Devin Harjes, a talented actor known for his roles in popular television series such as "Blue Bloods," "Boardwalk Empire," and "Manifest," has died at the age of 41 after a battle with cancer. The news of his passing has left fans and colleagues in shock and mourning.

Harjes's representative, David Williams, confirmed that the actor passed away on May 27, 2025, at Mount Sinai West Hospital in New York City, following complications from cancer. He had been diagnosed with the illness last winter.

Born and raised in Texas, Harjes made a name for himself with his versatile acting skills and memorable performances. He began his career in theater productions before transitioning to television. His breakthrough role came in 2011 when he portrayed real-life world heavyweight boxing champion Jack Dempsey in HBO's critically acclaimed period drama, "Boardwalk Empire." He shared scenes with notable actors such as Steve Buscemi and Kevin O'Rourke during his time on the show.

Following his success on "Boardwalk Empire," Harjes went on to appear in numerous other television series, including "Blue Bloods," where he played a "little bad guy" in a season 3 episode, "Orange Is the New Black," "Gotham," "Daredevil," "FBI," and "Elementary." He also had a recurring role in the Netflix series "Manifest," where he played Pete Baylor across the second and third seasons.

Beyond his television work, Harjes also appeared in several short films and independent movies, including "Boyz of Summer" (2012). His performance in "The Forest is Red" earned him the Best Actor award at the Tolentino International Film Festival in Italy.

Williams described Harjes as "an artist of great conviction who never gave less than one hundred percent to any role he undertook." He added that Harjes was "generous, kind, understanding, and devoted to his family and friends, a great horseback rider, and had a magic way with all animals."

Harjes is survived by his parents, Randy and Rosanne Harjes; his sister Trish Harjes and her husband Justin Kelley; nephews Tristin and Sawyer Kelley; nieces Rory and Charly Kelley; his former wife Shiva Shobitha; and his beloved cat, Maude.
