On June 22, 2025, Nick Jonas bid a heartfelt farewell to his character 'Jamie' as the Broadway production of "The Last Five Years" concluded its limited 14-week engagement at the Hudson Theatre. The Jason Robert Brown musical, also starring Tony Award winner Adrienne Warren, marked Jonas's first lead role on Broadway, a milestone celebrated by his family, including his wife Priyanka Chopra and brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas.

"The Last Five Years" tells the story of the tumultuous five-year relationship between Jamie, a rising novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. The narrative unfolds through a unique structure: Jamie's perspective moves forward chronologically from their first date, while Cathy's story is told in reverse, starting from their breakup. The characters only intersect once, at their wedding, creating a poignant and unconventional exploration of love and loss.

Leading up to the opening night on April 6, 2025, Jonas shared a touching moment on Instagram, revealing a handmade good luck poster from his daughter, Malti Marie, adorned with sweet scribbles and the words "Congrats," "Broadway," and "New York." He also recounted how Malti, dressed as Tinkerbell, called him "Prince Charming" and wished him to break a leg leaving him "cooked" with emotion. Priyanka Chopra was also present to show her support for Nick on his big night.

The production itself garnered mixed reviews. Some critics praised the leads' vocal performances and the emotional power of Brown's score, while others found the direction and the chemistry between Jonas and Warren to be lacking. There were comments about Jonas, known for his pop career, making a transition to Broadway. Some critics noted that Warren's vocal talent sometimes overshadowed Jonas, while others praised Jonas for holding his own, calling the duo's final performance emotional. Despite the varying opinions, many audience members were moved by the performances and the storytelling, with some seeing the show multiple times.

To promote the show, a music video featuring Jonas and Warren performing "Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You," the musical's emotionally charged finale, was released. Filmed at Jane's Carousel in Brooklyn, the video captured the bittersweet essence of the characters' relationship.

As "The Last Five Years" concludes its run, Nick Jonas is moving forward with his brothers on Jonas Brother projects. They recently released their new single, "No Time to Talk," from their upcoming album Greetings From Your Hometown, followed by their tour. The Jonas Brothers also have plans to release new Christmas music and a Disney+ Christmas movie later this year.
