Priya met Sunjay on a flight. A friendship developed, which eventually led to marriage after his divorce from Karisma. Priya acknowledged that Sunjay's first marriage was unconventional. She expressed deep affection for Samaira and Kiaan, emphasizing that they are all part of a "beautiful blended family" now.

After marrying Sunjay, Priya's daughter, Safira, from her previous marriage to Vikram Chatwal, moved in with them. Priya admitted that the initial adjustment wasn't easy, but she encouraged Sunjay to develop a direct relationship with Safira, which resulted in a close bond between them.

Priya explained that their household includes four children: Samaira, Safira, Kiaan, and Azarias, her son with Sunjay. She described Azarias as the "glue" that brought the family together, as he is half-sibling to all of them. She also noted the close relationship between Samaira and Safira, highlighting how the family has grown to love and appreciate each other over time.

Priya made it clear that while she cherishes her place in Samaira and Kiaan's lives, she doesn't see herself as their mother. In the interview, Priya also spoke about Sunjay's passion for polo. She revealed that the family would spend a portion of the year in England, where Sunjay played professionally. This arrangement also allowed their daughter to attend boarding school nearby and their son to experience schooling in both India and England.

In another interview, Priya described Sunjay as "misunderstood" and noted that he had to make many difficult decisions after his father's death and his divorce from Karisma. She mentioned that Sunjay would often discuss business matters with her and seek her input, indicating her involvement in his professional life.

Sunjay and Karisma were married in 2003 and divorced in 2016, after separating in 2014. They have two children, Samaira and Kiaan. Sunjay married Priya in 2017, and they had a son, Azarias, in 2018.
