Reports have emerged that Abdu Rozik, the Tajikistani singer and social media influencer known for his appearance on Bigg Boss 16, was detained in Dubai on allegations of theft. The news, which broke on Saturday, July 12, 2025, states that Rozik was taken into custody shortly after arriving at Dubai International Airport from Montenegro at approximately 5 AM.
Conflicting information initially circulated regarding the nature of Rozik's detention, with some reports indicating an arrest. However, Rozik's management team, S-Line Project, has since clarified the situation, stating that he was only detained for questioning and subsequently released. According to S-Line Project, Rozik provided explanations to the police and was allowed to proceed with his planned activities, including attending an award ceremony in Dubai.
In a statement to the media, S-Line Project addressed the theft allegations and expressed their intention to take legal action against misinformation. "First of all, he is not arrested, he was only detained by the police. Abdu Rozik gave his explanations and was released," the management team stated. They further added, "Secondly information in media is not correct. We will take all legal action to protect Abdu Rozik and his image". Rozik's team also told News18, “Also we will provide you with all information later on to inform Indian people. Believe us we have a lot to say regarding this issue".
While Rozik's management has confirmed the detention and subsequent release, the specific details surrounding the theft allegations remain unclear. A representative of Rozik's company told Khaleej Times, "All we can say is that we are aware he has been taken into custody on allegations of theft," declining to provide further details. As of now, UAE authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the matter.
This is not the first time Rozik has faced legal scrutiny. In 2024, he was questioned by India's Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering investigation involving a hospitality firm, though he was not named as an accused.
Abdu Rozik, 21, is a popular figure in the Middle East and South Asia. He gained widespread recognition through his music, viral videos, and appearances on reality television shows, most notably Bigg Boss 16. Rozik is also a recipient of the UAE Golden Visa and has been a resident of Dubai for several years.
