A special screening of Saiyaara, the Bollywood debut film of Ahaan Panday, was recently held at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The event drew a crowd of Bollywood celebrities who came to support Ahaan as he embarks on his journey in the film industry.
Among those in attendance were Ananya Panday, Ahaan's cousin, and her father, Chunky Panday. Ananya showed her support by sporting a sticker that read "Ahaan Panday Fan Club" and declared herself a member on Instagram. She also shared a photo of herself hugging Ahaan, captioning it, "A star is born my Saiyaara". Chunky Panday also expressed his support for his nephew, posting a heartfelt message on Instagram wishing him love and luck.
Other notable celebrities who attended the Saiyaara screening included Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Alizeh Agnihotri, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F.
Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, is a romantic drama that stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The film tells the story of Vaani Batra (played by Aneet Padda), an aspiring journalist, and Krish Kapoor (played by Ahaan Panday), who dreams of becoming a successful singer. Their paths cross, and they fall in love, but their relationship is not without obstacles. The film explores how their love overcomes these challenges.
The movie has been making waves at the box office, with early estimates reporting a collection of nearly Rs 21 crore on its opening day. This is a significant achievement for a film featuring two newcomers in leading roles. Saiyaara has broken the record for the highest opening day earnings for a debutant-led film, surpassing Dhadak, which previously held the record.
Saiyaara's music, composed by Mithoon, Vishal Mishra, and Faheem Abdullah, has also been receiving positive feedback. Faheem Abdullah, in particular, is garnering praise for the title track.
Mohit Suri chose to cast fresh faces to capture the innocence and intensity of first love. Suri explained that the decision to keep Ahaan and Aneet away from initial promotional activities was a collective idea, to avoid repetitive questions about their personal lives and focus on their work once the film was released.
Critics and early viewers have lauded Saiyaara, with many praising the performances of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Some viewers have already dubbed Aneet Padda the next "national crush". Singer Palak Muchhal, who attended a special screening, described the film as a moving journey of emotion and healing, commending Mohit Suri's direction and the debutantes' performances.
Saiyaara is produced by Yash Raj Films and will be available on Netflix after its theatrical run.
