Recent buzz suggested that the actress, who has been away from daily soaps, was approached for a new show by Dubey and Mehta's Dreamiyata Entertainment. It was also speculated that she might star opposite Vivian Dsena in the project. However, sources close to the development have clarified that this information is not accurate.
According to an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, Dipika Kakar is currently prioritizing her health and family. The actress, known for her roles in "Sasural Simar Ka" and "Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum," has been on a break from television. Her last appearance was on "Celebrity MasterChef". She had to leave "Celebrity MasterChef" midway due to health concerns.
Dipika Kakar had previously revealed her desire to return to acting during an Instagram live session. She mentioned that she had even consulted her doctors about resuming work. Her initial plan was to get back to work after her son, Ruhaan, stopped breastfeeding and she regained her fitness.
However, her plans were unexpectedly altered after being diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. In June 2025, Dipika underwent a 14-hour surgery to remove a tumor, her gall bladder, and a portion of her liver. Her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, shared that the surgery was successful. She is currently undergoing targeted therapy. Dipika also mentioned that she is waiting for her medical team's approval before making any professional commitments.
Shoaib Ibrahim has been actively sharing updates about Dipika's health journey on YouTube. He revealed that Dipika developed mild ulcers on her tongue as a side effect of the targeted therapy, but doctors had already warned about this possibility and advised her to increase her water intake.
While fans were excited about the prospect of seeing Dipika Kakar back on screen, it seems they will have to wait a little longer. Dipika's primary focus remains on her recovery and spending quality time with her family.
