Vijay Deverakonda's upcoming spy action drama, previously known as "Kingdom" for its pan-Indian release, has been retitled "Saamrajya" for its Hindi version. The film is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2025, in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, "Kingdom" features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead and promises a gritty and emotional narrative. The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya.
Initially, there was speculation that the Hindi version might skip a theatrical release and go directly to OTT platforms. However, the makers have now confirmed a full-scale theatrical release across all languages. Adding to the Hindi version's appeal, Ranbir Kapoor has lent his voice as a narrator, a strategic move intended to attract a wider audience. The Hindi version is presented by Adwise Movies' Aditya Bhatia and Atul Rajani, with AA Films handling distribution across North India.
Anirudh Ravichander is the music director for the film, and his recently released track, "Anna Antene," has already gained popularity online. The film also stars Satya Dev as Vijay Deverakonda's on-screen brother.
According to reports, the decision to release "Kingdom" in Hindi as "Saamrajya" involved Netflix's regulations, which will limit the Hindi version's screening to single-screen theaters.
Vijay Deverakonda is reportedly pinning high hopes on "Kingdom" to revive his career after his last three films faced setbacks at the box office. With its pan-India appeal and strong promotional efforts, the film's performance, particularly in the North Indian market, is highly anticipated.
