Ashish Vidyarthi, a celebrated actor with a career spanning over 30 years and 300 films in 11 languages, has recently expressed his desire to take on more "central roles" in films. In a vlog posted on his YouTube channel, Vidyarthi addressed his fans who have noticed his absence from the big screen, stating that he is consciously seeking roles that truly showcase his talent and reignite his passion.

Vidyarthi, who won a National Film Award for his performance in "Drohkaal" (1994), is known for his portrayal of antagonists and supporting characters in films like "1942: A Love Story", "Vaastav: The Reality", and "Haider". While grateful for the opportunities he has had, he feels he has more to offer and is actively pursuing lead roles that will allow him to explore his full potential. "Main ek behtereen actor hoon (I am a great actor)," Vidyarthi declared, emphasizing his desire to take on roles that haven't been offered to him yet.

Vidyarthi has been communicating his aspirations to directors, producers, and casting directors, stating that just because he hasn't been offered central roles in the past doesn't mean he can't be given those opportunities now. He is not driven by fame or the number of films he does but is waiting for a role that will make him come alive as a performer again.

Despite pausing his film career to pursue better opportunities, Vidyarthi has been actively engaged in other creative pursuits. He has found joy and purpose as a motivational speaker, a travel vlogger, and the creator of a comedy sketch show called "Sit Down Ashish". These ventures have allowed him to remain visible and connected with his audience while waiting for the right film role.

Vidyarthi's decision to step back from films reflects a desire to avoid being typecast and to seek roles that truly challenge and fulfill him. He believes he has untapped potential as a lead actor and is determined to showcase his versatility. "Yeh actor abhi zinda hai (This actor is still alive)," he quipped in his vlog, sending a clear message to filmmakers that he is ready and waiting for the role he deserves.

While Vidyarthi waits for the right opportunity, he remains optimistic and proactive. He is not sitting at home feeling depressed but is actively engaging with the industry and exploring other avenues to express his creativity. His dedication to his craft and his determination to find meaningful roles serve as an inspiration to other actors and artists who seek to break free from stereotypes and pursue their passions.
