Mouni Roy has shared her excitement about Smriti Irani's return to the small screen with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. The popular show, which initially launched the careers of stars like Mouni Roy and Pulkit Samrat, has made a comeback after decades, featuring Smriti Irani as Tulsi Virani and backed by Ektaa Kapoor. The reboot premiered on July 29, 2025, on Star Plus and JioHotstar.

Mouni Roy, who played Krishna Tulsi in the original series, expressed her enthusiasm for Smriti Irani's return and fondly recalled memories from the shoot. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Mouni revealed that she had seen a couple of episodes of the show in fragments, as she has been shooting non-stop. "I was very excited. It's my Smriti 'Di' coming back and my Ekta 'ma'am.' They're practically family," she said.

Mouni further shared a heartwarming anecdote, "I still remember her getting me books and giving me ice cream on the day that I was sad. So we go back that many years, and I was very excited". She also mentioned that Smriti Irani is equally excited about the show's reboot.
