Jr NTR, the Telugu cinema superstar, is poised to make his Bollywood debut in the highly anticipated action thriller "War 2," alongside Hrithik Roshan. With the film's release drawing near, Jr NTR has been candid about his initial anxieties regarding his acceptance in Hindi cinema.

At a pre-release event in Hyderabad on Sunday, August 10, 2025, Jr NTR openly expressed his concerns, stating that "Every South Indian has a doubt: 'Kya accept karenge yeh log?'". He extended his gratitude to Hrithik Roshan for welcoming him "with wide and open arms," acknowledging the impact of this gesture on his confidence. He also humorously recounted receiving a "beautiful hug" from Roshan on their first day working together.

Jr NTR credited director S.S. Rajamouli for blurring the lines between South and North Indian cinema. He emphasized that "War 2" is not just about him entering Hindi cinema but also about Hrithik Roshan venturing into Telugu cinema. He lauded "War 2" director Ayan Mukerji, stating that there could be no better director in the country to helm the film. Jr NTR added that Mukerji was the only choice and will be remembered for directing one of the greatest films of our times.

Jr NTR's journey to Bollywood has been marked by significant achievements in Telugu cinema. The grandson of the legendary N. T. Rama Rao, he began his career as a child actor before making his adult debut in 2001. He gained recognition for his performances in films like "Student No. 1" and "Aadi," followed by a string of commercially successful movies. His role in S.S. Rajamouli's "RRR" (2022) catapulted him to global stardom, earning him widespread acclaim.

Despite his success, Jr NTR's recent comments highlight the prevailing sentiments among South Indian actors about breaking into Bollywood. While the lines between regional and national cinema are blurring, apprehensions about acceptance and potential disparities in treatment persist.

Notably, the issue of remuneration has also surfaced, with Jr NTR's body double reportedly declining to work on "War 2" due to the meager pay offered compared to Tollywood standards. This incident underscores the existing disparities in the industry, despite Bollywood's high budgets.

"War 2," directed by Ayan Mukerji, features Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in lead roles. The film is part of the YRF Spy Universe and is slated for release on August 14, 2025. The film is anticipated to be a high-stakes espionage thriller.

Ahead of the film's release, Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan have engaged in playful banter on social media, further fueling anticipation. Jr NTR initiated a challenge by sending a billboard to Hrithik's house in Mumbai, prompting a response from Roshan, setting the stage for their on-screen rivalry.
