Varun Dhawan has been capturing hearts both on and off-screen while shooting for the highly anticipated war drama, Border 2. Recent updates reveal that the actor has wrapped up his shooting schedule for the film and has been sharing glimpses of his time in Punjab, connecting with the serene and rustic lifestyle.

Dhawan, who seems deeply connected to his role in Border 2, took to social media to share photos of himself in the open green fields of Punjab, dressed in a simple white kurta-pyjama. These images showcase him at ease, enjoying the natural setting and immersing himself in the local culture. In one of his posts, he simply captioned "Punjab," conveying his affection for the region.

The actor also shared a video on Instagram celebrating the completion of Diljit Dosanjh's shooting schedule. The video showed the two actors sharing a warm hug and distributing sweets, with Dhawan expressing how much he would miss Dosanjh and the team, cherishing the "taste of friendship".

Following the completion of his shoot, Dhawan visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar with his co-star Medha Rana to seek blessings. The team also celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony on set, joined by director Anurag Singh, producer Bhushan Kumar, and other crew members.

T-Series, the film's production house, shared a video of the on-set celebrations on Instagram, with Dhawan cutting the cake amidst cheers from the cast and crew. Dhawan reshared the post on his Instagram stories, expressing his gratitude to the team for making him a part of their dream and for the opportunity to play the character in Border 2.

Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. The film features Sunny Deol in a lead role, along with a strong ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The film is a sequel to the 1997 hit Border, directed by J.P. Dutta.

The movie aims to continue the legacy of the original film by showcasing the heroism, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the Indian soldiers. Border 2 is slated to release on January 23, 2026.

Recently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approved the film's first promotional teaser, a 1 minute 10 second clip classified U/A 16+. The teaser's release is strategically timed around Independence Day, hinting at the film's patriotic theme and confirming its January 23, 2026 release date.
