Timothee Chalamet's Critics Choice Winning "Marty Supreme" Finally Heads to India for Release: Anticipated Arrival.

Timothée Chalamet's recent Critics Choice Award win for his performance in "Marty Supreme" has amplified the anticipation for the film's release in India. The movie, directed by Josh Safdie, is slated to arrive in Indian cinemas on January 23, 2026. PVRINOX Pictures will handle the exclusive theatrical distribution of the film in India.

"Marty Supreme" has garnered significant attention throughout the awards season, with Chalamet's portrayal of Marty Mauser earning him widespread acclaim. At the Critics Choice Awards, Chalamet bested other prominent actors, including Leonardo DiCaprio, to take home the Best Actor prize.

Chalamet, during his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to director Josh Safdie for crafting a story about a flawed man with a relatable dream. He also thanked his partner, Kylie Jenner, acknowledging her support.

The film is loosely based on the life of table tennis star Marty Reisman and follows a man driven by ambition and obsession. The film explores the high price of chasing greatness. It features a supporting cast including Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher, Tyler, the Creator, and Odessa A'zion. "Marty Supreme" marks Josh Safdie's first directorial project since co-directing "Uncut Gems" with his brother Benny Safdie.

Chalamet underwent extensive training, reportedly six to seven years, to master the table tennis scenes in "Marty Supreme". This dedication allowed him to perform the scenes without the use of a body double.

"Marty Supreme" was released in the United States on Christmas 2025 and has since achieved both critical and commercial success. The film's narrative begins as a sports drama but evolves into a thriller, capturing the energy of New York's underground scene.

The marketing campaign for "Marty Supreme" has been described as strategic and attuned to how people engage with pop culture. A24, the studio behind the film, has employed a digital strategy that includes releasing behind-the-scenes photos and clips to maintain the film's presence in the cultural conversation.
