Beatriz Taufenbach Quits Instagram After Intimate Scene with Yash Sparks Controversy and Online Backlash

Brazilian actress Beatriz Taufenbach has deactivated her Instagram account following a wave of backlash surrounding her appearance in the teaser for the upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash. The teaser, released on January 8, 2026, to coincide with Yash's birthday, features a brief but intimate scene between Taufenbach and Yash in a car parked near a cemetery. This scene quickly went viral, sparking intense debate and controversy across social media platforms.

The explicit nature of the scene led to criticism from various groups. Some viewers condemned the visuals as inappropriate and morally offensive, especially considering the film's wide audience. The controversy escalated when the women's wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Karnataka filed a formal complaint with the Karnataka State Commission for Women (KSWC), denouncing the teaser's content as "obscene" and harmful to the "social well-being of women and children". The AAP urged authorities to remove the teaser from public platforms to uphold the state's cultural and moral values.

In response to the complaint, the KSWC requested that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) take appropriate action regarding the teaser. Social activist Dinesh Kallahalli also submitted a formal complaint to the CBFC, objecting to the "obscene, sexually explicit and morally offensive scenes".

Amidst the rising disapproval, Beatriz Taufenbach deactivated her Instagram account, making her profile inaccessible. Searches for her handle now display the message "Profile isn't available". Many believe this decision was a direct response to the incessant negative comments, online hostility, and unsolicited messages she received following the teaser's release. Sources suggest the deactivation is a temporary measure to avoid "toxic" comments while the production house handles the CBFC fallout.

Initially, there was confusion regarding the identity of the actress in the teaser, with some reports incorrectly identifying her as Hollywood actress Natalie Burn. However, director Geetu Mohandas clarified the matter by posting on social media, identifying Taufenbach as her "cemetery girl". Mohandas also shared a still from the scene, further emphasizing Taufenbach's role. Some sources state that Mohandas responded to the criticism, stating, "Chilling while people figure out female ple**ure, consent, women playing systems, etc".

Beatriz Taufenbach is a Brazilian actress and model. While some reports mention Ukrainian origin, others state she is of Brazilian-Ukrainian origin. She entered the entertainment world in 2014 through the Karacter Model Tour and has since worked in national and international fashion runways. Some sources claim she is known for roles in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Disney's Encanto.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. The film is scheduled to be released on March 19, 2026. Besides Yash and Beatriz Taufenbach, the film reportedly stars Kiara Advani, Akshay Oberoi, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth.
