Marvel fans, mark your calendars! The highly anticipated series Ironheart is finally making its debut on Disney+ very soon. The first three episodes will premiere on June 24, 2025, followed by the remaining three episodes on July 1, 2025.

Ironheart introduces Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a brilliant young MIT student who creates her own version of the Iron Man suit. Viewers first met Riri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where she aided Shuri in the conflict against Namor. Now, Riri returns to her hometown of Chicago, determined to make her mark on the world.

The series promises a compelling blend of technology and magic as Riri encounters Parker Robbins, also known as The Hood, played by Anthony Ramos. The Hood, a superpowered crime boss, becomes a mentor of sorts to Riri, but his shady nature raises concerns among her loved ones. The Hood wants to take in other misfits and show the world that they are going to end up on top.

Ironheart was initially conceived as a feature film before being developed into a television series in 2020. According to Brad Winterbaum, head of streaming, TV, and animation at Marvel Studios, the delay was due to a shift in content strategy for Disney+. The series will consist of six episodes, released under Marvel Studios' "Marvel Television" label.

The series boasts an impressive team of executive producers, including Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout, as well as Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian from Proximity Media. Chinaka Hodge serves as the head writer and also as an executive producer. Eve Ewing, a writer for Ironheart in the comics, is a consulting producer.

Marvel has already released a trailer and several featurettes, offering glimpses of Riri in action and teasing the conflict between technology and magic. The series is set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The release strategy for Ironheart is a bit unique. Disney+ will drop the first three episodes on June 24th at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, followed by the remaining three episodes on July 1st, at the same time. This two-part release has sparked discussion among fans, with some wondering if Disney is testing different release models or if they lack confidence in the show's week-to-week viewership.

Whether you're a longtime Marvel fan or new to the MCU, Ironheart promises to be a thrilling addition to the Disney+ lineup. Get ready to see Riri Williams suit up and take on the challenges ahead as she makes her mark on the world.
