The highly anticipated documentary, "Forever We Are Young," offering an intimate look into the global phenomenon of BTS through the eyes of their devoted ARMY, is set to grace theaters worldwide on July 30. This feature-length film, crafted by award-winning directors Grace Lee and Patty Ahn, promises a unique perspective, as it's made "by ARMY for ARMY."

"Forever We Are Young" delves into the passionate fandom that propelled the seven-member South Korean group, BTS, to international stardom. Far from portraying fans as stereotypical screaming teenagers, the documentary highlights the ARMY as an intergenerational, culturally aware, and socially engaged movement as diverse as the world itself. The film captures the powerful spirit of activism and collectivity that makes ARMY a symbol of hope and unity.

The documentary's journey spans continents, showcasing the diverse ways in which ARMY connects with BTS and each other. From a BTS-focused ReactorCon in Lewisville, Texas, to a dance class in Seoul dedicated solely to BTS choreography, and dedicated fans organizing since 2013, "Forever We Are Young" paints a vivid picture of the fandom's dedication. The film illustrates how ARMY has organized and mobilized fan-led movements, playing a crucial role in BTS's rise to superstardom.

According to Billboard, the documentary will explore the emotional core of the ARMY and the strong bond they share with the band, as well as how ARMYs became the biggest celebrity fandom in the world.

Tickets for the limited theatrical release will be available for purchase starting July 2, via the website btsarmymovie.com. Select cinemas will also offer film-branded concessions and official movie posters.

The film is executive produced by Academy Award winner Morgan Neville, Caitrin Rogers, and James Shin. The film is edited by Oscar Vazquez and Aldo Velasco with cinematography by Jerry Henry and original music by Andrew Orkin.

Prior to its theatrical release, "Forever We Are Young" premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, where it received high praise and standing ovations. It has also been screened at various film festivals globally, including those in Copenhagen, Mexico City, Hawaii, and Los Angeles.

Directors Grace Lee and Patty Ahn emphasized the symbiotic relationship between BTS and their fans, stating, "There is no BTS without ARMY and no ARMY without BTS. We're excited for audiences to go on an emotional journey and meet a fandom that made us laugh, cry, and think. We were constantly moved by the fans' power, resilience, creativity, and humor and hope audiences will be too.”

Kymberli Frueh, Senior Vice President of Content Acquisitions and Programming at Trafalgar Releasing, echoed this sentiment, stating, "The global impact of BTS is undeniable, not just as artists, but as a cultural movement. We are proud to bring this film to big screens across the globe to celebrate the impact of the fans themselves who have supported BTS every step of the way.”
