Toronto-based rapper Top5, whose real name is Hassan Ali, was reportedly stabbed in London over the weekend while supporting his friend, Drake, at the Wireless Festival. The incident occurred while Top5 was interacting with fans near the festival venue. A masked man approached him and stabbed him in the neck.

The stabbing caused chaos, with people fleeing the scene, fearing a mass knife attack. Top5 was immediately rushed to the hospital and is reportedly in stable condition and recovering. Sources indicate that no major arteries were hit during the attack.

The Metropolitan Police were called to Springpark Drive, near Finsbury Park, at around 12:15 AM following reports of the stabbing. Authorities have confirmed that the victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by a group who damaged his car before the stabbing. He was taken to the hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing. As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing. Police have urged the public to provide any information related to the incident.

Top5 and his team have not yet released an official statement regarding the attack. The motive behind the stabbing remains unclear, but online speculation suggests it may be linked to ongoing tensions within Toronto's rap scene. Before the incident, Top5 had reportedly stated during a livestream, "There are no real killers in London," which some have interpreted as antagonistic.

Notably, rappers Why G and FB, known affiliates of the "Wassa" camp, were also present in London for the festival. Following the news of the stabbing, they allegedly posted laughing emojis on their Instagram stories, which some interpreted as mockery or indirect commentary on the attack.

Top5 has been a controversial figure in Canadian hip-hop, known for his legal issues and online presence. In 2021, he was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Hashim Omar Hashi. However, those charges were stayed in 2024 after a court ruled that his lyrics and social media posts were inadmissible as evidence. Weeks before the stabbing, Top5 allegedly attempted to enter Kendrick Lamar's hotel in Toronto.

Following the incident, a video circulating on social media allegedly shows men surrounding and vandalizing a car, and seemingly assaulting someone inside. However, it remains unconfirmed whether this video is directly related to the stabbing.

Fellow artists and figures in the hip-hop community have expressed their support for Top5. DJ Akademiks shared a message on Instagram, saying, "Praying for peace at top five. I love you, brother".
