The entertainment industry and fans alike are mourning the sudden passing of Shefali Jariwala, the actress and model best known for her "Kaanta Laga" music video, who died on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the age of 42. While initial reports suggested a cardiac arrest as the cause of death, official confirmation is still awaited. Mumbai police have stated that Shefali was found at her residence in the Andheri area of Mumbai. Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. A forensic team also visited her apartment to investigate.

According to reports, Shefali was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai late Friday night by her husband, Parag Tyagi, and three others. However, she was declared dead on arrival by the on-duty doctor. A hospital receptionist also confirmed that she had already passed away before reaching the hospital.

Parag Tyagi has been seen visibly distraught following the tragic event. He was photographed at Cooper Hospital, requesting the paparazzi to respect his privacy during this difficult time. Videos of the grieving family have been circulating on social media, with many requesting that their privacy be respected.

Shefali's last rites are expected to take place today, June 28, after the post-mortem examination is completed. The family is yet to release an official statement regarding the circumstances of her death and the funeral arrangements.

Shefali Jariwala's final social media post, a tribute to her Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant Sidharth Shukla, has resurfaced, adding to the sorrow of her fans. Her last Instagram post, made a week before her death, featured a video of her preparing for a stage performance with the caption "It is time to start living". Fans have noted the sad irony of the post in light of her sudden demise.

Shefali Jariwala gained immense popularity with the "Kaanta Laga" music video in the early 2000s. She also participated in Bigg Boss 13. In addition to her entertainment career, Shefali had bravely spoken about her battle with epilepsy, which she had been diagnosed with at the age of 15.
