Falaq Naaz Criticizes Khushi Mukherjee's Dress; Questions Government's Inaction on Revealing Outfits, Asks 'Why No Penalty?'

Falaq Naaz, a television actress known for her roles in "Sasural Simar Ka" and "Bigg Boss OTT 2", has recently voiced her opinion on actress Khushi Mukherjee's fashion choices, specifically questioning the government's stance on what she considers to be revealing attire. This comes amidst a backdrop of Mukherjee facing increased public attention and criticism for her bold outfit selections.

Naaz took to her Instagram to share a video addressing Mukherjee's recent viral video, where she was seen in a black T-shirt dress with a high thigh slit. Naaz did not directly name Mukherjee, but referred to her as "didi" (elder sister) in the video. Naaz questioned why the government seems to be more concerned with issues such as people feeding stray dogs (where penalties are sometimes imposed) than with individuals wearing revealing clothes in public.

In the video, Naaz stated, "If people are coming out on the streets wearing something like this, why is the government not objecting to it? The media is covering them, and why is there no penalty on such people who are being covered? I want to know this. So, all those people who are sitting here, help me out, tag the authorities, and I want the answer now, that if this is right, then do not raise your voice against feeding stray dogs. If you do not raise your voice against being naked, then do not raise your voice against feeding children".

Mukherjee's recent outfit choices have indeed sparked considerable debate and online trolling. A particular video of her exiting a car in a dress with a high slit attracted negative attention when the dress was caught by the wind, prompting her to quickly cover herself. Social media users have described her outfits as "cheap" and have even suggested that they are publicity stunts.

This isn't the first time Naaz and Mukherjee have been in a public disagreement. Earlier, Mukherjee reportedly called Naaz "jobless" and a "wannabe" after facing criticism for her fashion choices. Naaz responded by stating that she would rather be unemployed than "roam around half-naked on the streets". She also dismissed Mukherjee's fame as a "paid publicity stunt," alleging that Mukherjee deliberately attracts cameras with her provocative outfits to garner attention. Naaz sarcastically commented, "Come on, Didi, I'm giving you five minutes of fame. Enjoy. All your paid PR will now work".

Naaz's recent video has ignited further discussion about freedom of expression, decency, and societal expectations. Some people support Naaz's views, arguing that there should be some level of accountability for public displays of what they consider to be indecency. Others believe that individuals should have the freedom to dress as they choose, and that the government should not interfere in personal fashion choices.

The debate also extends to the role of the media in covering such instances, with Naaz questioning why media outlets give attention to individuals who wear revealing clothing. She suggests that the media coverage itself might be contributing to the issue and that penalties should be imposed on those who are covered and those who cover them.
