Vijay Deverakonda's upcoming film, Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, has been the subject of much speculation and anticipation. The film's release has been delayed several times, causing frustration among fans. Recently, producer Naga Vamsi addressed these concerns via social media, offering updates and reassurances about the project.
Vamsi acknowledged the "sweet curses" he's been receiving from fans due to the delays. He reassured everyone that the team is working tirelessly to deliver a "massive big-screen experience". He confidently stated that Kingdom has "winner written all over it," describing it as a "full meals commercial entertainer packed with loads of drama in Gowtam's style". Vamsi promised that a release date teaser and song announcements would be coming soon. These updates could potentially arrive in late July or August.
Kingdom, an action thriller set against the backdrop of Sri Lanka, is produced by Nagavamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four banners. A teaser, featuring Jr. NTR's voice-over, has already generated significant excitement.
One potential reason for the delay is that Anirudh Ravichander has not yet completed the music for Kingdom. Anirudh has a busy schedule, including the final event of his "Hukum" musical tour on July 26th and the release of Rajinikanth's Coolie on August 14th. To accommodate his other commitments, Anirudh would need to finish Kingdom's music by July 20th; otherwise, further delays could occur. Producer Naga Vamsi has stated that he is willing to wait to allow Anirudh the time he needs to deliver his best work.
Previously, the film's release was also affected by tensions between India and Pakistan. Originally slated for May 30th, it was then moved to July 4th. Vijay Deverakonda explained that "unforeseen events in the country and the current atmosphere have made it difficult for us to move forward with promotions or celebrations". He expressed gratitude to Dil Raju Garu and Nithin Garu for their support in making the change possible.
