Anshula Kapoor, recently evicted from Karan Johar's reality show "The Traitors," has revealed the intense environment on set sometimes led to heated moments requiring intervention from the crew. The reality show, which premiered on Prime Video on June 12, 2025, brought together 20 celebrity contestants in a game of secrecy and psychological tactics.

According to Anshula, the high-pressure conditions and captive environment often caused emotions to run high. Confined to the Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer with limited communication to the outside world, the contestants found themselves constantly second-guessing each other, which led to friction. Anshula shared that production frequently had to break the fourth wall during fights.

Anshula has been open about the challenges she faced during her time on "The Traitors." She revealed that the show triggered her post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and led her back to intensive therapy. She said one particular mission, which involved navigating a scene reminiscent of mourning rituals, brought back memories of her mother's death in 2012. The lack of communication and constant surveillance also took a toll on her mental well-being.

Despite the difficulties, Anshula found comfort in having her aunt, Maheep Kapoor, on the show. Maheep's presence provided a sense of normalcy and safety in the unfamiliar environment. Anshula admitted that other contestants seemed uncomfortable with their pre-existing relationship. To avoid raising suspicions about being traitors, Anshula said that she and Maheep intentionally distanced themselves from each other. Anshula noted Maheep maintained a clear boundary between the show and their personal life, ensuring their relationship remained unaffected.

Anshula's journey on "The Traitors" was marked by emotional challenges and personal revelations. She entered the show believing it would be an intelligent game. However, she found the experience to be more akin to "Bigg Boss," with contestants often pitted against each other. Despite being a fan favorite, Anshula was ultimately voted out by her fellow contestants, who wrongly believed she was a traitor. Reflecting on her eviction, Anshula mentioned she had strongly defended Elnaz Norouzi, which may have influenced others to doubt her.

As the show approaches its grand finale on July 3, Anshula has mixed feelings about her experience. While she is excited to return home, she acknowledges the mental and emotional toll "The Traitors" had on her. She hopes her experiences can shed light on the importance of mental health and the potential impact of reality television.
