Joe Jonas Opens Up About Divorce From Sophie Turner: Navigating a Difficult Time for Everyone

Joe Jonas is opening up about his divorce from Sophie Turner, acknowledging the difficulty of the situation for everyone involved. In a recent interview with Esquire, the singer-songwriter shared his thoughts on navigating the split and maintaining a positive co-parenting relationship with the actress.

Jonas emphasized the challenges that come with divorce, stating, "Divorce is tough. It’s not easy for anybody". He also expressed his gratitude for the support he's received from his brothers, Kevin and Nick Jonas, as well as his family and friends, during this period.

The Jonas Brothers singer filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones star in September 2023, after four years of marriage, citing that the marriage was "irretrievably broken". The couple released a joint statement at the time, saying they had "mutually decided to amicably end" their marriage and requested privacy for themselves and their children.

The divorce was finalized in September 2024, with a Florida judge approving a confidential settlement regarding asset division, spousal support, and child custody. Joe and Sophie share two daughters: Willa, born in 2020, and Delphine, born in 2022.

Jonas has focused on his children throughout the divorce process. "That I could get out on the other side two-ish years later, and be able to have a relationship with my co-parent, Sophie, you realize you do everything you do for your kids," he said. "I'll do anything for them, and there's a lot to navigate through that".

Since the breakup, Jonas has praised Turner's parenting skills, calling her "an incredible mom". Despite initial disagreements regarding child custody, they reached an agreement, and things between them are reportedly better now than they have been since their split. Sources say that the pair have found a "peaceful groove" and have maintained an amicable relationship while co-parenting from different continents.

Jonas also finds purpose in performing and connecting with his fans. "People are going through so much, and the fact that I could go perform and make people feel something and maybe distract them from what they’re going through, or their divorce, for the two hours they come see a concert, it gave me so much purpose," he explained.

Turner described the split as "incredibly sad" in an October 2024 interview with Harper's Bazaar. "We had a beautiful relationship, and it was hard,” she said.

The couple met through Instagram in 2016 and had their first date in a London pub. They got engaged a year later and married in 2019 in a Las Vegas ceremony, followed by a wedding in France.
