In a recent podcast interview, Sawant referred to filmmaker Farah Khan as her "sugar mummy" and superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan as her "godfathers".
Sawant, who has often portrayed herself as an outsider in the industry, expressed immense gratitude towards Farah Khan, stating that the filmmaker has been a constant source of support and generosity. She revealed that Farah Khan has helped her immensely, especially after she returned home after three and a half years to find her house in disrepair. According to Sawant, Farah Khan is not only providing new flooring but is also rebuilding her entire house. In addition to the home repairs, Sawant mentioned that Farah Khan gifted her a TV, washing machine, utensils and a pressure cooker on Diwali.
Rakhi Sawant also spoke glowingly about Salman Khan, calling him "gareebon ka massiah (messiah of the poor)". She shared instances where Salman Khan has supported her, including helping her secure work in Bigg Boss when she was jobless and providing financial assistance for her mother's cancer treatment. She claimed that Salman Khan spent crores for her.
These statements come amidst a challenging period for Sawant, who has been embroiled in legal battles with her ex-husband, Adil Khan Durrani. There have been accusations and counter-accusations, including allegations of property fraud against Sawant. In November 2024, Sawant, who was in Dubai at the time, expressed fear of arrest in India, stating that she was not seeking help from Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan, wanting to fight her own battle. She said that she did not want to keep begging and had become a beggar.
Despite the legal turmoil, Sawant has maintained that she has faith in the Indian legal system. Her recent comments about Farah Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan highlight the support system she has within the film industry, even during difficult times. She has also expressed her admiration for younger actresses like Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, acknowledging their support as an achievement in itself.
