Amritsar, India – Actress Shehnaaz Gill recently visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to seek blessings before the release of her upcoming film, "Ikk Kudi". The film, which Gill says is especially made for Punjab, is scheduled to release on October 31, 2025.
Gill expressed her excitement about the project and encouraged her fans to watch it in theaters. Speaking to news agency IANS, Gill stated, "I came here to pray for our film's success. 'Ikk Kudi' is very special, and I hope everyone enjoys it".
"Ikk Kudi," which translates to "A Girl," is particularly significant as it marks Gill's debut as a producer. The film, written and directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, tells the story of a young woman's journey as she navigates struggles to find the right partner. Gill emphasized that the film depicts a story from 1950 to 2025, showcasing a range of emotions and experiences. She added that the film was shot in Chandigarh and portrays the authentic Punjabi atmosphere.
The film was initially slated for release on September 19 but was postponed due to the recent floods in Punjab. Gill commented on the postponement, saying, "The floods in Punjab were very serious. I tried to help as much as I could. We decided it was better to postpone the release so that people could enjoy the film without worry".
Gill also spoke about her brother, Shehbaz, who is currently participating in "Bigg Boss 19". "I feel very happy seeing him there. I want all Punjabis and everyone watching 'Bigg Boss' across India to support him. He is doing really well, and going on the show was always his dream," she said.
The actress has been actively promoting the film, emphasizing its connection to the Punjabi culture and its themes. "We have made this film especially for Punjab. If Punjabis don't watch the film, it won't be fun," Gill said. She also added, "Our entire team has worked wholeheartedly so that Punjabi cinema can reach a new height".
This isn't Gill's first visit to the Golden Temple. In April 2022, she shared a photo on social media from the Golden Temple, where she was seen wearing a red suit and a white dupatta.
