Speculation is building around a potential collaboration between Power Star Pawan Kalyan and director Vamsi Paidipally for a new film. While official confirmation is still awaited, industry insiders suggest that discussions are underway, and the project could soon materialize.
Vamsi Paidipally, known for directing films such as "Munna," "Brindavanam," "Yevadu," "Oopiri," "Maharshi," and "Varisu," is reportedly developing a social drama. Initially, he approached Bollywood actor Aamir Khan with the script, and Dil Raju, the producer, even paid an advance to secure Khan's dates. However, for reasons unknown, Aamir Khan backed out of the project. Subsequently, there were talks of Salman Khan potentially joining the project, but those plans also failed to materialize.
According to recent buzz in Tollywood circles, Vamsi Paidipally has now turned his attention to Pawan Kalyan for his next venture. Ace producer Dil Raju, who announced a film with Pawan Kalyan during the success celebrations of "OG," is said to be working with his in-house directors, including Anil Ravipudi and Vamsi Paidipally, on scripts for Kalyan. Dil Raju and Pawan Kalyan previously collaborated on the successful film "Vakeel Saab".
Reportedly, Vamsi Paidipally has modified the script he initially narrated to Aamir Khan, keeping Pawan Kalyan's image and political standing in mind. Sources indicate that Dil Raju has secured Pawan Kalyan's dates, increasing the possibility of Vamsi Paidipally directing the film.
Pawan Kalyan is currently occupied with other projects. He is set to appear in the action drama "Ustaad Bhagat Singh," directed by Harish Shankar. This film is a Telugu-language adaptation of Thalapathy Vijay's "Theri". Kalyan is also starring in "They Call Him OG," a gangster film directed by Sujeeth, which was released in theaters on September 25, 2025.
"They Call Him OG" premiered on Netflix on October 23, 2025, but the OTT release has reportedly left viewers disappointed as they were expecting an uncut version of the film.
Vamsi Paidipally is known for taking long gaps between his films and for working with big stars. In his 18-year career, he has directed only six films, all featuring prominent actors.
The potential collaboration between Pawan Kalyan and Vamsi Paidipally, produced by Dil Raju, has generated considerable excitement within the industry and among fans. Further details, including official announcements regarding the cast, crew, and release date, are eagerly anticipated.
