Tiwari Makers Deny Urmila Matondkar Clash, Aim For 2026 Launch Of Her Streaming Debut.

Recent reports of disputes and delays surrounding Urmila Matondkar's OTT debut in the series "Tiwari" have been refuted by the show's producer, Utpal Acharya. Acharya has confirmed that the project is on track and is aiming for a February 2026 release.

"Tiwari" marks Matondkar's return to acting and her first foray into the world of web series. The series, a thriller set in a small town, revolves around Kalki, played by Matondkar, who seeks justice after being wrongly imprisoned. The story follows Kalki's journey after she is released from prison, having served time for a crime she did not commit, and her quest 14 years later to find the person who framed her.

Rumors of creative differences between Acharya and director Saurabh Varma, as well as reports of the project being stalled, have been circulating in the media. However, Acharya has firmly denied these claims, stating that the filming was completed in a start-to-end schedule in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He clarified that there were no creative differences or any tiff with director Saurabh Varma.

Acharya also addressed the reason for the extended post-production period. Initially planned as seven episodes of 50 minutes each, the OTT platform requested a change to 14 episodes of 25 minutes each. Acharya explained that due to the nature of the revenge-thriller drama, abrupt cuts were not feasible, leading to the delay in post-production.

Adding to the anticipation, "Tiwari" reunites Urmila Matondkar with her "Satya" co-star, JD Chakravarthy, after 27 years. The series also features Gauahar Khan and Rajesh Sharma in significant roles.

While the OTT platform for the release has been almost finalized, the name is yet to be revealed. The platform is expected to make an official announcement once everything is in place.

Acharya praised Urmila Matondkar's dedication to the project, noting her enthusiasm and commitment throughout the filming process. He stated that Matondkar was excited about the release and consistently demonstrated punctuality and preparedness on set.

Urmila Matondkar, a prominent Bollywood star in the 1990s, was last seen in the song "Bewafa Beauty" in the film "Blackmail" (2016). "Tiwari" is produced by Content Engineers.
