Shashi Tharoor's Hilarious 60th Birthday Wish for Shah Rukh Khan: Age Is Just a Number!

Mumbai, November 2, 2025 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 60th birthday today, and the occasion was marked by an outpouring of love and witty tributes from fans and colleagues alike. Among the most notable was a humorous message from Indian politician and author Shashi Tharoor, who playfully questioned the actor's age.

Tharoor took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his birthday greetings, admitting he found the "60" number "deeply suspicious". He jokingly stated that a "crack team of independent fact-checkers and forensic detectives" had investigated the claim and concluded that there was no discernible visual evidence to support it.

"In the complete and absolute absence of any discernible visual evidence—specifically, no non-photoshopped grey hair, no undeniable signs of slowing down, and a persistent appearance of someone significantly younger—the claim that Shah Rukh Khan is turning 60 cannot be factually confirmed," Tharoor wrote.

Tharoor went on to suggest that Khan is "actually starring in a real-life, decades-long, global-scale Bollywood adaptation of 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' "referring to a story about a man who ages in reverse. He presented "evidence" to support his claim, noting that Khan's energy levels seem higher than they were 20 years ago, his hairstyle has become progressively more youthful, and there are no wrinkles that a decent lighting crew couldn't explain away.

"I predict by the time he hits his '70th' birthday, he'll be auditioning for teenage roles," Tharoor quipped. "Mercifully, I don't expect to be around when he turns into a child star. Congratulations on this unbelievable milestone, Shah Rukh! Please keep defying physics and biology."

Khan, often referred to as "King Khan" and the "Baadshah of Bollywood," was born on November 2, 1965. He began his career in television in the late 1980s before making his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. He has since starred in over 100 films and has won numerous awards, including 15 Filmfare Awards. Khan has a significant following in Asia and among the Indian diaspora worldwide.

The actor's birthday celebrations included an intimate party at his Alibaug home, with close friends and family in attendance. Filmmaker Karan Johar, a close friend of Khan, shared a glimpse of the celebration on social media, featuring Rani Mukerji and Ananya Panday. Farah Khan also shared a photo with Shah Rukh on social media.

Outside Khan's Mumbai home, Mannat, fans gathered with banners and posters, hoping to catch a glimpse of the superstar. Every year, Khan greets his fans from Mannat on his birthday. Some fans even traveled from as far as Peru to celebrate his milestone birthday.

In addition to the birthday festivities, reports suggest that the first teaser of Khan's upcoming film, King, directed by Siddharth Anand, was unveiled today. A two-week SRK Film Festival is also underway at PVR INOX cinemas across 75+ cities in India and international territories, showcasing his iconic films.

Colleagues and fans have flooded social media with heartfelt wishes for the actor. Akshay Kumar, Kajol, Anupam Kher, and many others extended their greetings.
