The trailer launch of Delhi Crime Season 3 in Mumbai on November 4, 2025, was a star-studded affair, with Shefali Shah, Huma Qureshi, Rasika Dugal, and Sayani Gupta bringing their signature styles to the event. The third season of the Emmy-winning Netflix series is set to premiere on November 13, 2025, and will delve into the disturbing realities of human trafficking.
Shefali Shah returns as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, leading her team in a challenging investigation that spans across India. Rasika Dugal and Rajesh Tailang reprise their roles as IPS Officer Neeti Singh and Inspector Bhupendra Singh, respectively, supporting Vartika in her pursuit of justice. This season, the team faces a formidable adversary in "Badi Didi," played by Huma Qureshi, who portrays a ruthless trafficker. Sayani Gupta also joins the cast, adding further depth to the ensemble.
The trailer offers a glimpse into the dark world of human trafficking, with Qureshi's character preying on innocent girls from villages. DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, portrayed by Shah, is seen intercepting a truck carrying young girls, setting the stage for a gripping investigation. The official synopsis reveals that the search for a missing mother leads Vartika and her team to uncover a vast trafficking network that extends beyond India's borders.
Director and Showrunner Tanuj Chopra noted that the aim of Season 3 was to present a narrative that feels both urgent and deeply human. He added that each season of Delhi Crime stands on its own.
Huma Qureshi described her character, Badi Didi, as the "worst character" she has ever played, emphasizing the darkness and lack of limitations in portraying such a role. Despite the challenges, Qureshi felt it was important to highlight the issue of human trafficking through her portrayal. She stated, "Delhi Crime is such an important show, it holds a mirror to society. Sometimes when a known actor plays a negative role, it highlights the issue. If my portrayal helps raise awareness about this subject, then it's truly an honour".
The previous seasons of Delhi Crime have tackled sensitive and impactful real-life events. The first season, which won an International Emmy Award in 2020, focused on the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi gang rape. Season 2 centered on the "Chaddi Baniyan Gang" and their brutal crimes in Delhi. This season promises to be equally intense, drawing inspiration from multiple real-life events related to human trafficking.
