Thamma's Sweet Success: Ayushmann & Rashmika's Horror Comedy Haunts Box Office, Surpasses ₹125 Crore in India.

Thamma Box Office Collection Day 16: Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna Horror Comedy Maintains Strong Hold, Crosses ₹125 Crore in India

The Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer, "Thamma," continues its successful run in theaters, cementing its place as a popular horror-comedy offering. The film has now crossed the ₹125 crore mark in India after its 16th day in cinemas.

On its 16th day, "Thamma" has collected ₹1.66 crore, pushing its total India net collection to approximately ₹124.05 crore. While Day 15 saw stronger numbers with approximately ₹2 crore added to the total, the film has shown a resilient performance into its third week.

"Thamma" had a strong opening, grossing ₹24 crore on its first day and ₹108.4 crore in its first week. Although the second week saw a slowdown, the film has maintained momentum. The movie's sustained performance can be attributed to its blend of horror, comedy, supernatural elements, and romance, broadening its appeal to audiences. The star pairing of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, coupled with the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe brand and the Diwali holiday boost, provided a strong foundation for the film's success.

The film is the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, which includes successful movies like "Stree," "Bhediya," and "Munjya". "Thamma" tells the story of a meek journalist, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, who transforms into a vampire and falls in love with Rashmika Mandanna's character, leading to a "bloody love story" filled with twists. The movie also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal in supporting roles, with a cameo appearance by Varun Dhawan as Bhediya.

The film has emerged as Ayushmann Khurrana's third-highest grossing film, following "Dream Girl" and "Badhaai Ho". For Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, "Thamma" is among their highest-grossing Hindi films.

Early estimates for Day 16 indicated an 8-10% occupancy in morning shows. With a holiday in various parts of India, the film was projected to earn ₹2–2.5 crore on its 16th day. Sacnilk reported that "Thamma" earned around ₹1.46 Cr India net on its sixteenth day for all languages.

Looking ahead, "Thamma" is expected to conclude its theatrical run with a total India net collection of around ₹125–130 crore.
