Farhan Akhtar Confesses Lingering Hesitation Speaking Hindi Before His Father, Javed Akhtar, Despite His Fluency.

Farhan Akhtar, the acclaimed actor and filmmaker, recently revealed that he still feels a sense of shyness when speaking in Hindi in front of his father, the celebrated poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar. Despite his own established position in the Bollywood industry, Farhan admits to feeling like a child again when conversing with his father in Hindustani.

In a recent interview on "Aap ki Adaalat," Farhan shared that he often feels embarrassed and self-conscious, fearing that he might not articulate himself correctly in his father's presence. This feeling often prompts him to switch to English during conversations with Javed Akhtar. He humorously mentioned that his father has even questioned him about this linguistic habit, wondering why Farhan finds it difficult to converse with him in Hindi.

This revelation provides a glimpse into the dynamics of the Akhtar family, showcasing a son's enduring respect and perhaps a touch of awe for his accomplished father. It highlights how even successful individuals can experience vulnerability and self-doubt in the presence of their parents, regardless of their age or achievements.

Javed Akhtar has also previously spoken about his relationship with Farhan and his daughter Zoya. In his book "Talking Life," Javed admitted that he had been more worried about Farhan's future compared to Zoya's. He described Farhan as a "shy" and "quiet" child, while he viewed Zoya as "strong" and "precocious". Javed even noted that Farhan seemed "intimidated" by his sister during their younger years. However, he also mentioned that Farhan underwent a significant transformation around the age of 23.

Interestingly, Javed Akhtar has also mentioned how his children, both successful filmmakers themselves, sometimes reject his lines for being too traditional or outdated. He humorously stated that it is easy for them to be his boss, with Zoya being more vocal in her criticism and Farhan simply rejecting his suggestions. This speaks to the evolving nature of language and creative expression across generations, even within the same family.

On the professional front, Farhan Akhtar is currently involved in the war film "120 Bahadur," which depicts a real-life military event. Directed by Razneesh 'Razy' Ghai, the film features Farhan as Major Shaitan Singh, alongside Raashii Khanna.
