Global Latin pop superstar Enrique Iglesias is making a grand return to India after a 13-year absence, with a highly anticipated two-day concert series in Mumbai on October 29th and 30th, 2025. The "Bailamos" singer, who last performed in India in 2012, is set to take the stage at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex.
In an exclusive interview, Iglesias expressed his excitement about returning to India and his deep appreciation for his Indian fan base. "You never know when you first announce, but I will say that I had a great feeling about India specifically," he stated. "The fans there are so amazing and dedicated". He further added, "The energy is incredible. The crowds, the fans, the people…EVERYTHING is always amazing".
The concerts are produced and promoted by EVA Live in partnership with BEW Live. Due to overwhelming demand, an additional show was added after the initial concert sold out within minutes. Tickets for the first day are still available, with prices starting at ₹7,000 for general admission and ₹14,000 for VIP access, while the second day is already sold out.
Iglesias also addressed the long gap between his visits, clarifying that it wasn't intentional. "There was no hiatus; it just takes time between albums and touring around to other countries to make it back over there," he explained. "But it has always been a priority to come back". He also lauded the evolution of India's music scene and the unwavering enthusiasm of his fans, stating, "It was bound to happen, and I couldn't be happier. India has such amazing fans. They have such a great respect and appreciation for music".
Beyond his performances, Iglesias is also keen to explore India's rich culture. He expressed regret for not having had the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal during his previous trip and plans to visit the iconic monument in Agra this time. Sources also suggest that Iglesias will be treated to Indian curries and cultural experiences during his tour. Adding to the excitement, there are reports that Iglesias is expected to meet with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his family during his Mumbai visit.
The concerts promise to be a night of nostalgia, energy, and emotion, featuring a mix of Iglesias' classic hits and new releases. Some of his most popular songs include "Hero", "Bailamos", "Escape", "Addicted", "Rhythm Divine", "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)", "I'm a Freak", and "Dirty Dancer".
Adding to the star power, Indo-Canadian singer Jonita Gandhi and Indian EDM duo Progressive Brothers will be the opening acts for Iglesias's Mumbai concerts. Gandhi, known for her versatility and collaborations with international stars, expressed her excitement about sharing the stage with Iglesias, while Progressive Brothers are eager to bring their unique sound to the Indian audience.
Iglesias hinted at the possibility of collaborating with Indian artists in the future, stating, "I am always open to ideas, and you never know. It could already be in the making". He also acknowledged the influence of Indian music on his work, saying, "I draw influence from everything and anything I hear to some degree… Every single day".
Despite his global fame and over 100 million albums sold, Iglesias maintains that performing live still gives him the same thrill as it did early in his career. "Not only that, but I still get nervous before every performance. Those things never seem to change," he confessed.
As Mumbai prepares for Iglesias's highly anticipated return, fans are eagerly counting down the days to experience the magic of his music live once again.
