The highly anticipated trailer for Gen V season 2 has dropped, confirming the show's return to Godolkin University on September 17, 2025. The first three episodes will be available on the premiere date, followed by weekly releases, culminating in the season finale on October 22. The new season promises more of the gritty, gory, and satirical superhero action that made the first season a hit, while also grappling with the tragic loss of cast member Chance Perdomo.

Season 2 picks up after the events of The Boys Season 4, with Homelander tightening his grip on America. Back at Godolkin University, a new dean, Cipher, played by Hamish Linklater, arrives with a curriculum designed to make the students more powerful than ever before. However, this new regime seems less interested in nurturing heroes and more focused on training soldiers for Vought. As Cipher states in the trailer, "You are not students, you're soldiers, and you will fight."

The trailer reveals that Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan Li (London Thor and Derek Luh), and Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway) find themselves back at Godolkin after being held in the Elmira Adult Rehabilitation Center. The trio discovers a secret program with ties to the university's founding, suggesting a conspiracy that could have far-reaching implications. Meanwhile, Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) and Sam Riordan (Asa Germann) are now celebrated heroes, seemingly aligned with Homelander's agenda.

One of the significant challenges facing the new season was the unexpected passing of Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson. The showrunners have made the decision not to recast the role, choosing instead to honor Perdomo and his character by addressing Andre's absence in the storyline. The trailer offers a glimpse of how this will be handled, with Andre's father, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas), seeking answers about what happened to his son. Thomas's performance is expected to be particularly powerful as he portrays a grieving parent.

In addition to the returning cast and Hamish Linklater, season 2 will feature appearances from familiar faces from The Boys, including Chace Crawford as The Deep and Valorie Curry as Firecracker. New recurring cast members include Keeya King, Stephen Kalyn, Julia Knope, Stacey McGunnigle, Tait Fletcher, Wyatt Dorion, and Georgie Murphy, although details about their roles are currently under wraps.

Showrunner Michele Fazekas and executive producer Eric Kripke have teased that season 2 will be intense, with deeper connections to the wider The Boys universe. The season will explore themes of power, loss, and the conflict between humans and Supes, all set against the backdrop of a university that is rapidly transforming into a training ground for super-powered soldiers.
