"Jurassic World Rebirth" has made a significant splash at the Indian box office, earning ₹49.3 crore during its opening weekend. The film, the fourth installment in the "Jurassic World" series and the seventh since Steven Spielberg's original "Jurassic Park," has captured the attention of Indian audiences, exceeding expectations and securing the biggest opening weekend for an MPA title in 2025.

The movie debuted in India on July 4, 2025, and its success can be attributed to strong performances across different language versions. The English version led with ₹18.5 crore, followed closely by the Hindi dubbed version with ₹13.5 crore. Regional language releases in Tamil and Telugu contributed an additional ₹6.2 crore. On its opening day, the film earned ₹9 crore, followed by ₹13.5 crore on Saturday and ₹15.7 crore on Sunday. Preliminary data suggests that the film earned ₹3.43 crore on its fourth day.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, "Jurassic World Rebirth" stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey. The film centers on an extraction team venturing into a dangerous island research facility inhabited by uncontrollable giants from the original Jurassic Park. Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert leading the team.

The film's success in India also contributed to Scarlett Johansson achieving a new milestone, surpassing Samuel L. Jackson as the highest-grossing actor in leading roles worldwide, with totals exceeding $15 billion.

"Jurassic World Rebirth" has garnered mixed reviews from critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 51% rating, and it received a B CinemaScore from opening weekend audiences. Some viewers have praised the film's visual effects and action sequences, while others have criticized its lack of depth and repetitive nature. Some have noted the film is a "decent at best" addition to the franchise, with great VFX but a forgettable story. Others found the movie "surprisingly funny" and a return to form, appreciating the horror aspects and visuals.

Despite mixed reviews, "Jurassic World Rebirth" has outperformed its predecessor, "Jurassic World: Dominion," which grossed ₹44 crore in India during its opening weekend. The film has also surpassed the opening weekend earnings of the Bollywood release "Metro... In Dino," earning more than double its collections. Globally, "Jurassic World Rebirth" has achieved a five-day launch of $318.3 million, including $147.3 million in North American theaters and $171 million from 82 international markets.

The film's performance in the coming weekdays will be crucial to its overall success in India.
