Mouni Roy Embarks on Filming Journey for Madhur Bhandarkar's 'The Wives' Project

Mouni Roy has commenced shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar's upcoming film, "The Wives". The actress shared her excitement on social media, posting a photo with the director from the film set. In her Instagram post, she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with Bhandarkar and her enthusiasm for the journey ahead.

Madhur Bhandarkar also shared photos from the mahurat shot, revealing that "The Wives" is an original story set in the glamorous world of Bollywood, a subject he has been exploring for the past four years. He expressed his dream come true of bringing this concept-driven project to life and requested blessings and support as they embark on this journey. Bhandarkar, known for his films like "Fashion" and "Heroine," aims to reveal the untold stories of women in the Bollywood industry with this film. He stated that "The Wives" will be a bold and unapologetic look at the secrets, struggles, and resilience of women who are often seen but seldom heard. He aims to peel back the glamorous layer of society and expose what lies beneath.

"The Wives" boasts a cast including Sonali Kulkarni, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa, and Freddy Daruwala. The film is produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and P J Motion Pictures. This project marks Madhur Bhandarkar's second collaboration with producer Pranav Jain of P J Motion Pictures, following their previous collaboration on "India Lockdown". Pranav Jain stated that collaborating with Madhur again is exciting, noting his rare gift for telling stories that make people think. He believes "The Wives" will be an eye-opener and is proud to support such an honest and relevant project.

Madhur Bhandarkar is a Padma Shri awardee known for his bold and hard-hitting takes on society. With "The Wives," he turns his lens towards the heart of Bollywood, aiming to unmask the shadows behind the limelight and expose the struggles, secrets, and social dynamics of the industry.
