Following Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" tour concert in Atlanta, nine people were injured in a stampede at the Vine City MARTA station near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday night as concertgoers were leaving the stadium.

According to MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) officials, the incident began when a person started screaming and running, causing a stampede on an escalator. A witness reported that the escalator sped up and then abruptly stopped, leading people to fall on top of each other. MARTA police stated that the stampede caused the escalator to temporarily speed up before stopping suddenly.

Of the nine people injured, one suffered a broken ankle, seven sustained cuts and scrapes and were transported to a local hospital, and one declined medical attention.

The escalator has been barricaded, and both the manufacturer, Schindler, and MARTA Safety will investigate the incident.

Beyoncé performed four shows in Atlanta as part of her Cowboy Carter tour, from Friday to Monday, before her tour is scheduled to wrap up in Las Vegas on July 25 and 26.

In related news, unreleased music belonging to Beyoncé was stolen in Atlanta during the "Cowboy Carter" tour. The theft occurred from the vehicle of one of Beyoncé's choreographers, Christopher Grant, and dancer Diandre Blue while they were eating. Two suitcases were stolen from their 2024 Jeep Wagoneer rental car.
