Dave Franco, star of the Now You See Me franchise, has offered exciting insights into the future of the magical heist series. With Now You See Me: Now You Don't slated to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, and a fourth film already in development, Franco's enthusiasm suggests a long and prosperous future for the Horsemen.
Franco, who plays the quick-handed street magician Jack Wilder, expressed his excitement about the upcoming Now You See Me: Now You Don't. "Now You See Me 3, coming out in November -- the gang is back, definitely more magic," Franco stated in an interview with Screen Rant. He also teased some personal preparation for the role, saying, "I'm learning new ways to throw cards". This dedication hints at the continued focus on innovative and captivating illusions that have become a trademark of the franchise.
The third film, Now You See Me: Now You Don't, will see the return of the original Four Horsemen: J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), and Jack Wilder (Dave Franco). Mark Ruffalo and Morgan Freeman are also set to reprise their roles as Dylan Rhodes and Thaddeus Bradley, respectively. The film introduces a new generation of magicians, played by Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, and Dominic Sessa, who join the Horsemen in their daring exploits. Rosamund Pike joins the cast as Veronika Vanderberg, a "corporate mastermind" and the film's antagonist.
The plot of Now You See Me: Now You Don't involves a diamond heist, with the Horsemen uniting with the younger illusionists to take down dangerous criminals. The team is tasked with stealing the elusive "heart diamond" from a corrupt, wealthy family who is using the gem to launder money for traffickers and warlords. The trailer suggests a globe-trotting mission filled with mystery, betrayals, and a war of magical technology.
According to reports, the third film sees Atlas enlisting a trio of young magicians – Bosco (Dominic Sessa), Charlie (Justice Smith), and June (Ariana Greenblatt) – who use holograms to mimic the legendary Horsemen. The official logline promises that the Four Horsemen will return "along with a new generation of illusionists performing mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film".
Franco also expressed his fondness for his fellow cast members, emphasizing the camaraderie that exists between them. "I have the greatest time with that cast. I think our natural love for each other bleeds onto the screen, and I hope to make many more with them," he said. He added that he has known the cast for nearly 15 years, and the natural camaraderie they share bleeds through onto the screen.
Lionsgate has already confirmed that a fourth Now You See Me film is in development, with Ruben Fleischer returning to direct. Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group, stated that they were so happy with the director's cut of Now You See Me: Now You Don't that they are already developing the next chapter. The fourth film may build upon the events of the third film and further explore the secret society known as The Eye.
The Now You See Me franchise began in 2013 and has captivated audiences with its blend of magic, suspense, and intricate heists.
