Aamir Khan's latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par, is set to premiere on YouTube on August 1, 2025, available for audiences in India for ₹100. This digital release follows its theatrical run, skipping the conventional OTT platforms. The film will also be available in 38 international markets, including the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and Spain, with localized pricing. Subtitles and dubbing in some languages will also be available.

Khan explained that for the past 15 years, he has been trying to find ways to reach audiences without geographical access to theaters. He stated that with the rise of UPI, India's lead in electronic payments, increased internet penetration, and YouTube's accessibility across devices, the film can now reach a wider audience in India and worldwide. He স্বপ্ন is that cinema should be accessible to everyone at a reasonable price, allowing people to watch movies whenever and wherever they want.

Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by RS Prasanna and stars Aamir Khan and Genelia D'Souza in leading roles. The film is a Bollywood adaptation of the 2018 Spanish movie Champions. The story revolves around a suspended basketball coach (played by Aamir Khan) who is required to perform community service by coaching a team of players with disabilities for a tournament. The cast includes Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

Aamir Khan views Sitaare Zameen Par as a spiritual successor to his 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, emphasizing themes of love, joy, and embracing diversity. The film has reportedly grossed ₹250 crore worldwide. In India, the movie has grossed over ₹200 crore, while overseas collections are around ₹67 crore.

Gunjan Soni, Country Managing Director of YouTube India, said that launching Sitaare Zameen Par exclusively on their platform is a significant step towards democratizing Indian film distribution on a global scale. She added that YouTube is paving the way for Indian cinema to reach the global stage.

Aamir Khan also intends to make the entire library of Aamir Khan Productions available on the platform. Episodes of Satyamev Jayate will be available for free. Khan also plans to curate films from independent filmmakers, providing them with a platform.

In other news, the film Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is performing well at the box office. The film has earned ₹258.17 crore in India and is expected to cross ₹300 crore by Friday. Mohit Suri, the director, initially wanted to cast Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles.
