Yukti Kapoor, widely recognized for her role as SHO Karishma Singh in the popular sitcom 'Maddam Sir', has revealed her secrets to maintaining fitness amidst a demanding shooting schedule. With long hours and an unpredictable work life, staying healthy requires a dedicated and mindful approach.
Kapoor emphasizes that fitness plays a crucial role in her life. She believes that a positive mindset is key to staying energetic throughout the day. "I always tell myself it's going to be a good day that keeps my energy up. Your mindset really matters," she shares. She tries to enjoy every scene she shoots, which helps her maintain a happy attitude and provides the energy to work long hours without feeling tired.
To combat the challenges of a hectic schedule, Kapoor has developed a simple yet effective wellness routine. She starts her day with methi (fenugreek) water, which she prepares by soaking fenugreek seeds overnight and drinking the water in the morning. She follows this with a workout that includes 10 minutes of planks and 10-12 minutes of selected yoga postures. Even on set, Kapoor utilizes any free time for relaxing yoga sessions, which help her relax and benefit her body.
Meditation is another cornerstone of Kapoor's fitness regime. She makes it a point to meditate for 15-20 minutes on set to regain calm and inner peace. "This is about being present with myself, mind and body," she explains. This "me time" allows her to recharge her body and continue positively for the rest of the day.
Kapoor has recently incorporated morning yoga into her routine, which she says she truly enjoys. She wakes up early and practices yoga with a tutor, which helps her stay calm, focused, and flexible. She can already feel the difference in her body and mind, and even with a packed shooting day, yoga makes her feel fresh and active.
In terms of diet, Kapoor focuses on eating timely meals. She eats two proper meals, one at 12 noon and another around 7 in the evening. Kapoor also focuses on eating all vegetables and pulses. She has stopped consuming roti and rice, and her meals incorporate a good mix of vegetables and pulses, such as Daal Palak. She also ensures that she eats dinner by 7:30 in the evening. According to a YouTube video, Kapoor's diet includes lots of salad and yogurt. She sometimes eats roti or brown rice, along with a bowl of dal and a bowl of vegetables. She prefers roti, vegetables, dal, rice, salad, and yogurt for dinner, and sometimes has soup, grilled vegetables, or steamed vegetables.
Hydration is also a key component of Kapoor's routine. She drinks plenty of water throughout the day and consumes coconut water and fresh fruit juices. She also drinks "nimbu pani" (lemon water) and electrolytes when she feels low or tired, which helps her stay fresh and prevents dehydration, especially when shooting in hot weather or under strong lights.
Kapoor also emphasizes the importance of skincare. She uses homemade face packs, sheet masks, and lots of moisturizer. She never skips sunscreen and believes that these small habits make a big difference.
Kapoor's approach to fitness is not about extreme measures, but rather about incorporating simple, sustainable habits into her daily life. Her focus on mindset, regular exercise, timely meals, hydration, and skincare allows her to stay fit, healthy, and energetic, even with a demanding shooting schedule.
