Veteran Marathi actress Jyoti Chandekar passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Pune at the age of 68. She was known for her work in the Marathi film industry and her role as Poorna Aji in the television series "Tharala Tar Mag".
Chandekar had been undergoing treatment in Pune for the past few days due to a prolonged illness. She passed away at approximately 4 PM. The specific cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Jyoti Chandekar had a career spanning over five decades, beginning at the age of 12. Some of her popular films include "Dholki", "Paulavat", "Salaam", and "Sanjparv". She also appeared in television shows such as "Tu Saubhagyavati Ho" and "Chhatriwali".
