Karan Johar is the latest Bollywood personality to express his support and excitement for Aryan Khan's directorial debut, "The Bads Of Bollywood". Following Shah Rukh Khan's expression of excitement for his son's web series, Karan Johar has also confirmed that "The Bads Of Bollywood" is a must-watch.
The series, produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, marks Aryan Khan's entry into the world of filmmaking, choosing to work behind the camera rather than in front of it. Karan Johar had previously expressed his desire to launch Aryan as an actor, but Aryan was more interested in script-writing and direction. The series is co-written by Bilal Siddiqui and Manav Chauhan.
The first look of "The Ba***ds of Bollywood" was unveiled recently, generating buzz with its playful and unconventional tone. The teaser suggests a fresh perspective on Bollywood's celebrated and criticized aspects. Netflix shared the clip on social media, hinting at the series' blend of love and critique for Hindi cinema. In the teaser, Aryan's voiceover sets the stage, expressing his intention to both love and "attack" Bollywood, reflecting the series' essence as both a love letter and a critique.
Shah Rukh Khan has also shared his thoughts on the series, describing it as emotional, cool, and wacky. He added that he found it endearing and would leave the final judgment to viewers. Netflix India playfully sought permission from Shah Rukh Khan before releasing the teaser. Shah Rukh jokingly complained that Aryan doesn't inform him of anything. Karan Johar further amplified the excitement, suggesting that Aryan has created a show that is a "Baap show".
"The Ba***ds of Bollywood" has been in development for over a year and is scheduled to release in 2025. It features young talents Lakshya and Sahher Bambba in lead roles, with cameo appearances from industry heavyweights like Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, and Ranveer Singh. The series aims to blend the dreamy, romantic world of classic cinema with the energy of a modern storyteller.
The official synopsis describes the series as a blend of self-aware humor and a high-stakes narrative, promising unforgettable cameos and an adventurous ride into the world of Indian cinema. The series is anticipated to draw audiences across age groups with its bold and unapologetically entertaining approach.
