Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently shared insights into his relationship with his daughter, Shora, revealing that she offers him candid criticism and isn't easily impressed by his fame. In an interview with The New Indian, the acclaimed actor described Shora as "moohphat" (straightforward), explaining that she often critiques him and keeps him grounded.
Shora, who is studying in Dubai, doesn't hesitate to give her father feedback, no matter how accomplished he is. "She doesn't care that her father is a great actor — in two minutes, she can criticise me," Nawazuddin said. He values her honest opinions, stating, "She keeps me grounded, and that is a good thing". Despite Nawazuddin's successful career, Shora has not watched many of his films. He has also expressed caution about her watching his films, as most of them are not age-appropriate for her. He believes "Costao" is one of the films she would enjoy.
Nawazuddin has also noted Shora's interest in following in his footsteps and becoming an actress. She is taking the initiative to train and prepare herself for a career in acting. Shora independently attends workshops and is exploring world cinema. Nawazuddin supports her passion but doesn't push her, allowing her to pursue her interests independently.
In July 2025, Nawazuddin shared a video of Shora's acting performance from a workshop on social media. The video garnered positive feedback, with many praising her natural talent and potential. Some netizens have even compared her to established actresses like Radhika Apte, suggesting she could be a strong addition to Bollywood.
Previously, Nawazuddin mentioned that Shora had joined her school's performing arts faculty and convinced her teacher to admit her. Her curriculum includes various aspects of theater, such as costume stitching, carpentry, prop making, lighting, and performing in ticketed shows.
Shora's straightforward nature extends to all aspects of her life, including her views on her father's dancing skills. Nawazuddin jokingly shared that Shora tells him, "Papa, don't even think of dancing. You're way too stiff!".
Nawazuddin has confessed that balancing his career with family responsibilities has been a challenge. He acknowledged that he has often been weak in keeping up with family matters due to his deep involvement in his profession. Despite these challenges, he is attached to his daughter and values her presence in his life.
Nawazuddin's dedication to his craft is evident in his performances, including his role as Chand Nawab in "Bajrangi Bhaijaan". He revealed that he prepared extensively for the role, memorizing lines and practicing the timing. The scene was filmed in one take at a railway station in Rajasthan.
