Satish Shah's Passing: Bollywood Stars Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, and Others Share Grief for Beloved Actor.

Veteran actor Satish Shah, best known for his iconic comic roles in films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. The actor was rushed to Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital after suddenly falling ill at his residence, where he was later declared dead due to kidney failure. His funeral was held on October 26 at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai.

The news of Satish Shah's demise has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with numerous Bollywood celebrities expressing their grief and offering heartfelt tributes.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who remembered Satish Shah in a social media post, shared a post on her Instagram story and wrote, “Rest in peace Satishji”. Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a picture of Satish in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and wrote, “Rest in glory Satish Shah”.

Hrithik Roshan, who worked with Shah early in his career, stated on X, "Rest in peace, dear Satish Sir. I will never forget the kindness you extended to a newcomer like me on set. Your humour and legacy will continue to inspire. My deepest condolences to the family & friends".

Kajol, who co-starred with Shah in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, shared a story on her Instagram handle, writing, “Gone too soon, but your laughter will echo forever, rest in peace Satish Ji”.

Filmmaker Karan Johar also mourned the loss, posting a photo of the late actor with the words "Om Shanti". Farah Khan, who directed Shah in Main Hoon Na, reminisced about his joyful presence and humor, saying, “Rest in peace, dearest Satish. You were a joy to know and work with. Will miss u sending me memes n jokes everyday”.

Anupam Kher shared an emotional video, expressing his shock and sadness. "What is happening? In the past 3-4 days so many good people have left, that too the ones that have worked with me. Behind this empty smile of mine is a lot of sadness. Satish Shah... I used to say Satish mere Shah (Satish, my king)," he said.

R. Madhavan, who co-starred with Shah in the sitcom Ghar Jamai, shared a throwback picture and wrote, “The heavens will be a merrier and a happier place now. Satish Ji we make the Gods laugh out loud as they admire their own creation. Thank you for being such a solid wind beneath my wings early on in my career... for constantly believing in me and egging me on. You will be missed you so very much Satish Ji.. A void that can never be filled… Rest in Eternal Peace, sir, as we grapple on how to carry on without you. Om Shanti”.

Johnny Lever, a long-time friend and colleague, shared a heartfelt note, saying, “Feeling extremely sad to share that we've lost a great artist and my dearest friend of over 40 years. It's hard to believe—I had spoken to him just two days ago. Satish Bhai, you will truly be missed. Your immense contribution to film and television will never be forgotten”.

Satish Shah, a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), had a career spanning over four decades. He was known for his impeccable comic timing and memorable performances in numerous films and television shows. His portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai remains one of the most iconic comic roles in Indian television history. He also played 55 different characters in 55 episodes in Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi.

Satish Shah is survived by his wife, Madhu Shah. His legacy as a versatile and beloved actor will continue to inspire and entertain generations to come.
