Renowned choreographer Shiamak Davar has officially confirmed his involvement in Nitesh Tiwari's highly anticipated two-part mythological epic, Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi. Davar, known for his groundbreaking choreography in Bollywood classics and his widespread influence through dance education, revealed his participation in a conversation with Instant Bollywood.
When asked if his work in Ramayana would echo the iconic style of his earlier hit, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Davar clarified that this project would be distinctly different. He stated that the unique nature of Ramayana is precisely what drew him to the film. "This will be very different, isliye mai kar raha hun," Davar remarked, hinting at the fresh approach he intends to bring to the mythological narrative.
Shiamak Davar made his Bollywood debut choreographing Dil Toh Pagal Hai in 1997 for the late filmmaker Yash Chopra. He gained widespread recognition across India for his dance classes that many attended during their childhood. His choreography in Taal (1999) redefined dance on screen and established new standards for the industry. Beyond Bollywood, he has performed and choreographed on global stages. His confirmation of working on Ramayana marks a significant addition to the film's creative team.
The film boasts a stellar cast, with Ranbir Kapoor portraying Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash taking on the role of Ravana. Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey are also slated to appear in significant roles. The first installment of the two-part epic is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release, followed by the second part in 2027.
