Homi Adajania, known for directing films like "Cocktail," recently shared his enthusiastic reaction to the trailer of Shahid Kapoor's upcoming movie, "O Romeo". Adajania called the trailer a "banger," expressing his excitement for the film.

"O Romeo" features Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in a stormy love saga where Kapoor's character risks everything. The film has already generated considerable buzz, but faced some hurdles. The trailer launch was reportedly cancelled due to security concerns following a legal notice. Hussain Ustara's daughter, Sanober Shaikh, has reportedly slapped the makers with a Rs 2 crore notice and a 7-day ultimatum.

Adding to the intrigue, reports suggest that "O Romeo" is based on a script that Vishal Bhardwaj had originally planned as a biopic with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, but the project was shelved. Bhardwaj then revived it for Kapoor and Dimri.

Adajania and Kapoor previously worked together in the romantic comedy-drama "Cocktail". "Cocktail" was a financial success, grossing over ₹1.2 billion worldwide.

Diana Penty, who debuted in "Cocktail", said she feels she has played her part in the first film and is grateful for it. However, she added that if they are embarking on an entirely new journey, it deserves a completely new makeover and new cast.

Shahid Kapoor has explained his interest in picking gray characters, stating that complexity excites him.

"O Romeo" is expected to have a theatrical run before streaming on an OTT platform.
