Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel's Dragon preps for Africa filming: A sneak peek at the anticipated schedule.

The highly anticipated collaboration between Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel, tentatively titled "Dragon," is generating buzz as preparations reportedly begin for a significant shooting schedule in Africa. Known for his blockbuster hits like "KGF" and "Salaar," Neel is embarking on his first international project with this film, aiming to create a cinematic experience that transcends Indian boundaries.

Sources indicate that Neel is currently in Africa, scouting locations and finalizing arrangements for the upcoming schedule. He is expected to spend approximately a week completing these tasks before returning to India to commence the second shooting schedule in Hyderabad during the first week of November. This schedule is expected to involve the main cast.

The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, marks a significant milestone for Neel, who is known for creating immersive worlds within India, such as the Kolar Gold Fields in "KGF" and Khansaar in "Salaar". With "Dragon," he is venturing into building a world beyond Indian territory, potentially making it one of the largest ever created in Indian entertainment.

Jr NTR is currently undergoing a physical transformation to meet the demands of the high-octane action sequences in the film. He is focused on achieving a lean and muscular physique to suit the character.

While initial reports suggested creative differences between Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel, these rumors have been dispelled. Sources close to the project clarified that the first schedule's output led to minor script adjustments, a common practice for Neel.

"Dragon" boasts a stellar cast, with Rukmini Vasanth confirmed as the female lead. Ravi Basrur, known for his music in Neel's previous films, is composing the soundtrack. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on June 25, 2026, in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Filming officially commenced on February 20, 2025, with a large-scale action sequence shot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, involving approximately 3,000 extras. Producer Ravi Shankar has addressed speculations about a potential postponement to 2027, confirming that the film is on track for its 2026 release. While the initial release date of June 25, 2026, may be challenging to meet, the team is committed to delivering the film in 2026.

Following "Dragon," Jr NTR is expected to collaborate with director Nelson on an action thriller. Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel has "Salaar 2" and "KGF 3" in his pipeline, with the former anticipated to star Prabhas.
