Enrique Iglesias, the Spanish pop icon, has returned to India after 13 years, electrifying Mumbai with a two-night concert on October 29 and 30, 2025, at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex. The concerts mark his return to the same venue where he last performed in Mumbai in 2004.
The Grammy Award-winning artist, known for his chart-topping hits like "Hero," "Escape," and "Bailando," was spotted at Kalina Airport on Tuesday, greeting the paparazzi with a 'namaste'. Iglesias expressed his excitement about returning to India, acknowledging the passion and loyalty of his Indian fan base. "I've missed performing in India; the fans there are some of the most loyal and passionate in the world," he stated.
The gates to the MMRDA Grounds opened at 4:00 PM, with opening performances by Jonita Gandhi and the Progressive Brothers scheduled to begin around 6:30 PM. Iglesias is expected to take the stage around 8:00 PM, with the event wrapping up by 10:00 PM. The concert is open to attendees aged 5 and above, with each person required to wear their entry band and carry a government-issued photo ID at all times. Re-entry is not allowed.
Iglesias's music has maintained a strong presence in India across generations. From "Hero," which became an anthem in the early 2000s, to "Bailando," which sparked dance floors a decade later, his songs continue to resonate with Indian audiences. "India's fanbase is phenomenal. There's a profound appreciation and admiration for music there," Iglesias said.
The return of Enrique Iglesias has been highly anticipated, with concert tourism in India growing in recent years. Tickets for the October 30 concert reportedly sold out quickly, prompting organizers to add an additional show on October 29 to meet the high demand.
In an effort to ensure a smooth experience for concertgoers, the ticketing partner, District by Zomato, has invested in infrastructure and planning to streamline entry and exit. Over 500 security and safety personnel, along with 200 traffic marshals, have been deployed to manage crowds and vehicle movement. There are over 40 entry lanes, with separate points for general admission, VIP, and lounge ticket holders.
Iglesias also hinted at possible collaborations with Indian artists, including Shah Rukh Khan. Furthermore, a source revealed that Iglesias plans to extend his trip to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, as he enjoys exploring the culture of the cities he performs in.
