Manish Malhotra's Funeral Scene Outfit: Sexy Look Requested, Resulting in Fitted, Torn Salwar Kameez.

Celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra recently shared an amusing anecdote from the early days of his career, revealing that he was once asked to make a heroine look "sexy" for a funeral scene. This revelation came during his appearance on the celebrity chat show "Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle," hosted by actresses Kajol and Twinkle Khanna.

Malhotra, known for his maximalist style, has dressed some of the biggest names in Bollywood throughout his 35-year career. On the show, he recalled one of his initial design briefs, which involved creating an outfit for a funeral scene. To his surprise, he was instructed that "although it is a funeral scene, the actor still had to look hot".

Initially puzzled by the unusual request, Malhotra admitted that he didn't question the brief, not wanting to appear as though he "doesn't know his job". He later understood that the filmmakers desired a tight-fitting outfit. With a laugh, he described the final product as a "fitted, almost tearing salwar kameez".

The designer's recollection provided a lighthearted moment on the show, which is known for its fun, laughter, and heartfelt conversations. This particular episode also featured actress Sonakshi Sinha, who shared insights into behind-the-scenes (BTS) fashion lingo and her experience performing her own stunts in movies.

Adding to the entertainment, Twinkle Khanna playfully brought up another memorable incident involving Malhotra. She alluded to a time when he accidentally sent a text message to an actress he "didn't enjoy working with". The message, intended for someone else, apparently revealed his feelings about being "done with her and this film".

Malhotra hesitantly narrated the story, explaining that he had meant to send the message to his nephew, Puneet Malhotra. The message read, "Last day and I going on the set, done with this film and done with her". Unfortunately, he mistakenly sent it to the actress in question.

While Malhotra didn't reveal the actress's identity, the anecdote added another layer of humor to the show. These candid confessions and light-hearted moments are a signature of "Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle," making it a popular choice among viewers.

Beyond sharing amusing stories, Malhotra also reflected on his journey into costume design, attributing his passion for films as the driving force behind his career. He expressed his desire to transform the visual aesthetics of Indian cinema, which he felt had declined in the late 1980s. Malhotra has since transitioned into film production, with upcoming films like "Gustaakh Ishq" and "Bun Tikki".

The episode offered viewers a glimpse into the experiences and challenges faced by a leading designer in the film industry, along with the camaraderie and humor that exists behind the scenes.
