Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur's Dacoit Love Story: New Release Date Set for Ugadi 2026 Theatrical Launch

Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur's upcoming Telugu romantic action drama, "Dacoit: A Love Story," has a new release date. The film is now slated to hit theaters worldwide on March 19, 2026, coinciding with the Ugadi festival. This announcement follows a previous postponement from its originally scheduled Christmas 2025 release.

The postponement was attributed to an injury Adivi Sesh sustained during the filming of a crucial action sequence. The actor has since recovered, allowing the team to finalize a new release date.

"Dacoit: A Love Story" is directed by Shaneil Deo, marking his directorial debut. Adivi Sesh has co-written the screenplay with Deo. The film is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang, with Annapurna Studios presenting the project.

The film is being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi. It is currently in post-production. The music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.

"Dacoit: A Love Story" is billed as a tale of love and vengeance. The story revolves around an angry convict seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend, who betrayed him. His plan transforms into a tense saga of love, betrayal, and vengeance.

Adivi Sesh shared the new release date on social media, accompanied by a poster with the tagline, "This time is not normal… There's no going back!". He wrote, "Ee Saari Mamulga undadhu There's NO LOOKING BACK #DACOIT This UGADI MARCH 19th 2026 in Theaters WORLDWIDE". Mrunal Thakur also unveiled an intense new poster, writing, “Experience explosive drama with #DACOIT. Grand release worldwide on March 19th, 2026, in Hindi & Telugu".

The release date poster features Sesh and Thakur in a car. Sesh, with an intense expression, is pointing a gun, while Thakur appears distressed. The poster hints at a high-octane action sequence.

The film also stars Anurag Kashyap, who is making his Telugu debut as a police officer. The cast includes Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla. Kashyap described his role as both fun and challenging.

The Ugadi festival, which falls on March 19, 2026, marks the Hindu New Year for Marathi Hindus in certain South Indian states. The day is based on the Hindu Lunar Calendar. It is a time for new beginnings and celebrations.

With its new release date, "Dacoit: A Love Story" is poised to be a major festive release in 2026. The film is expected to clash with Yash's "Toxic" and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Love & War".
