Sonakshi Sinha's New Avatar, Marriage Views, and Bollywood Experiences
Sonakshi Sinha remains a prominent figure in Bollywood, making headlines for her upcoming film "Jatadhara," her views on marriage, and her experiences with ageism in the film industry. She was also recently spotted on the sets of "Bigg Boss 19".
Sinha is gearing up for the release of "Jatadhara," a mythological-supernatural thriller set to release on November 7, 2025, in both Hindi and Telugu. In the film, she plays Dhan Pisachani, a character inspired by Hindu mythology, embodying a mystical figure that balances divinity and menace. Producer Prerna Arora stated that the character's look underwent a three-month research and design process. Sinha described herself as a "switch-on and switch-off actor," stating that she doesn't take her work home, which makes it easy for her to transition in and out of characters. "Jatadhara" explores themes of faith and the clash between good and evil, with intense action and spiritual drama set against mythological and mystical backdrops.
Sonakshi Sinha married actor Zaheer Iqbal in June 2024. Sinha revealed that she kept her relationship under wraps, as she believes in "nazar" (evil eye) and didn't want it to be public until she was sure about marrying him. Before their marriage, Zaheer asked Sonakshi if she wanted to live separately from his in-laws, but she declined, stating her desire to live with them. She emphasized that it is a close-knit family, and they enjoy going on holidays together. Sinha also shared that neither she nor her mother-in-law knows how to cook.
The actress has been vocal about ageism in Bollywood, highlighting the double standards faced by women in the industry. Sinha pointed out that while women are often pressured to maintain a specific appearance, male actors don't face the same scrutiny. She revealed an experience where an older male co-star refused to work with her, claiming she looked older than him, despite being younger. Sinha has consistently spoken out against gender biases in the industry.
Veteran actress Shilpa Shirodkar, sister-in-law of Telugu cinema star Mahesh Babu, made headlines after participating in "Bigg Boss 18". Shirodkar defended Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, for not publicly supporting her during her time on the reality show, stating that they are reserved people and not the type to openly express their feelings. She stressed that she entered "Bigg Boss" with her own identity and not merely as Mahesh Babu's sister-in-law. Shirodkar dismissed the idea that Mahesh Babu is arrogant, describing him as a very nice and cool person who is always there to help. Mahesh Babu is currently focused on his upcoming project "SSMB29" with Priyanka Chopra, directed by S.S. Rajamouli.
Sonakshi Sinha was spotted on the sets of "Bigg Boss 19" to promote her new film. Salman Khan, the host, addressed instances of disrespectful behavior in the house, including ageist and body-shaming remarks.
