Singer and actress Nana and her mother were injured during a home invasion on November 15, 2025, at their residence in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
According to reports, a man in his 30s, identified as "A," broke into their home in Acheon-dong around 6:00 AM, armed with a weapon. The intruder threatened Nana and her mother and demanded money and valuables. During the confrontation, the assailant physically attacked both women. Nana reportedly fought back to protect her mother and restrain the intruder. Despite sustaining injuries, Nana managed to subdue him long enough to contact the authorities.
Responding officers arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect. "A" sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The Gyeonggi Guri Police Department confirmed the arrest and stated that they are investigating the incident, including the actions of both "A" and the victims, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the event. On November 16, the Uijeongbu District Court Namyangju Branch issued an arrest warrant for "A," citing a risk of flight.
Nana's agency, Sublime, stated that Nana's mother lost consciousness due to serious injuries sustained during the attack, while Nana suffered physical injuries while trying to protect herself and her mother. Both are currently receiving treatment and require absolute rest. The agency has urged the public to refrain from speculation as the investigation is ongoing and that specific details are difficult to disclose at this time.
Lawyer Park Seong-bae commented on the incident, calling it a "very unusual case" and noting that it is rare for a woman to subdue an armed robber. Park advised that victims are generally not recommended to fight back in such situations, suggesting that complying with the robber's demands and immediately contacting the police is a more realistic response. He added that because the intruder entered the residence with a weapon intending to steal money and valuables, the charges would likely be attempted special robbery. Furthermore, if the victim was injured during the struggle, there is a high possibility that robbery causing injury will be applied, which could lead to a heavy sentence for the perpetrator.
During police questioning, "A" stated that he did not know the house belonged to Nana, a member of After School, and that he committed the crime due to financial difficulties. Police indicated that "A" was looking for a location and found an unlocked door.
It has been noted that Nana holds a fourth-degree special combat martial arts certificate. News of the incident has sparked concern among fans and the entertainment industry.
