Homebound follows the story of two childhood friends, Shoaib (Ishaan Khatter) and Chandan (Vishal Jethwa), who dream of joining the police force. Prior to its Netflix release, Homebound premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). At TIFF, it secured the Second Runner-Up spot for the International Audience Choice Award. The film had a theatrical release on September 26, 2025.
Homebound is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, with Martin Scorsese serving as executive producer. Other producers include Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, with Marijke deSouza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier as co-producers.
